MUA lipstick review

So MUA are a very affordable makeup brand available from Superdrug and online, I have 5 of the lipsticks and I am very much a fan! Some of the products are amazing value for money and some you can tell why they are so cheap! MUA lipsticks are all a pound which is amazing!  Just to say, im not sponcered by MUA this is just my view and I hope it helps...

First of all the colour names aren't very imaginative and they all have a lovely creamy formula. They all have a handy little pot at the bottom with extra product in! There are pictures at the bottom...

Shade 12 - I would describe this as a barbie pink because it is bright pink with glitter in, I dont really like this one because of the glitter it doesnt apply very evenly!

Shade 7 - This is a pearly pink but more on the browny pink side, it is very shimmery but not glittery and I love it! It is like a rose gold kind of colour which I am currently loving which you can see if you follow me on pinterest (Rosie Francesca)

Shade 2 - This is a plummy pink, more a blue toned pink! It isn't that shimmery but not quite matte. It is quite a 'grungy' pink if you get me haha.

Shade 13 - A classic bold red, this is such a vibrant colour and it isnt shimmery but still not matte! Louise (from sprinkle of glitter) also loves this product.

Shade 1 - This is a dark maroony red and very autumnal in my view! I love this colour for more of an edgy look haha! It looks good all skin tones.

So here are the swatches! I hope this helped, thanks for reading...

Things Im Loving... (May Favourites 2013)

So im currently sitting outside in my garden, thinking about things I love at the moment! I suppose this could be a 'May Favourites' but that sounds a bit boring :) Im going to talk about a range of things from beauty, to food, to music. So I shall begin...

Firstly on my mind is this weather, It is a lovely sunny day with blue skies (although knowing England tomorrow it will be raining) If only everyday of the British summer was like this, especially in the holidays (like it is for me now). I love the fact you can wear what you would when you are abroad but still be a nice tempreture. At the moment im kind of ill and being outside in the fresh air and sun is really helping (in my opinion).

On the fashion front, Im loving all things bright and colourful (to go with the weather). Im currently wearing a bright pink and white striped skirt with a plain grey baggy top tucked in, on my nails is the bright mint green Barry-M gelly hi-shine thing, I cant remember the proper name but that will be fine! I love the way it applys and looks. I have recently got some converse a similar colour which I am in love with and now my nails match.

For beauty and hair type things, Im just embracing the natural side really (well not completely) because I have been wearing my hair just naturally down alot when im not in school, which is quicker and personally, how I am prefering it. For makeup I am being quite minimal at the moment even though my skins not looking great. As an example I have been wearing a dark shadow along my lash-line rather than eyeliner for a more sutble look. I love bright lips in the summer but I havent really had the occasion (or right type of colour) yet.

FOOODDDDD hahaha my favourite! Currently in my aga is a coffee marble cake for my cousin and grandpas birthday party tomorrow, it smells good but is taking ages to cook because its so big, I can't wait to ice it! So I love fruity teas at the moment, they are so refreshing, Ice-coffee is quite high up on my favourites too actually! I like the Activia Layers yogurts too, they have a small layer of fruit at the bottom and the rest is natural yogurt, you can mix them together but I love them seperately because why eat it normally when you can eat it differently ?!? Hahahhahaha... lemonade is fab in this weather too.

The music im enjoying at the moment is mostly chart music to be honest but not your typical pop music, Im in love with Passenger - Let Her Go and Macclemore - Cant Hold Us. OOOOO the suns just gone behind a cloud and its gone cold waaaaa, my laptop just died so I need to finish soon before it does it again.

This is a bit random but heres a 'wish list' of things I would like but aren't neccesary...

- A pair of summery wedges
- A small handbag
- Some more sunglasses
-A new bikini
-Summery scarf
-Some jewellery
-Another Barry M nail varnish that I was talking about earlier (pink or something)
-Bright, yet everyday lipstick

There are plenty more, I just can't think of them but I have a shopping trip coming up so keep your eyes peeled for a haul!

Thanks for reading,

Beauty Would You Rather Tag

I found this tag online and thought it would be quite fun to join in with! So here are the questions...

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I would rather loose all of my palettes and eyeshadows because I wear them less and mascara is a must have for me!
2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would rather chop it all off for charity or something, it would be quite nice to grow it back and experiment with different styles.
3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I personally think a pink cheek suits my complexion more.
4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I think clothes because I would feel I was wasting my money on makeup because it is generally cheaper than clothes. You could get alot of really nice clothes with $1000/£1000.
5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
I reckon I would go for eyeliner as lipstick because you could get nude colour that you could wear as a lipliner!
6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
MAC, I just love the brand, If only I could afford it.
7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
One eyeshadow if it was quite neutral because you could make a look more exciting with bright lip colours.
8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Winter clothes in the summer because in England the summer isnt particularly warm! But to be honest I would rather wear summer clothes in summer and winter clothes in winter.
9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Dark because with bright you could risk it clashing with your outfit and there might be ocassions where bright wouldn't be appropiate. I think dark colours can look classier, and more wintery and in England the winter is longer than the summer anyway.
10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Favourite eye product because I would hate to have chapped lips, however I could manage with different eye products.
11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytail, because I wear a ponytail most days for school anyway, partly because they are easier and quicker in my opinion.
12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss because I am more of a lipstick person and I think nails look ugly without nail varnish.
13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
It may sound weird but a face looks so weird without eyebrows so I reckon I would actually sharpie them in, but im not going to start it anyway!
14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Even though I said nails look ugly without nail varnish, I think I would rather live without because I look so tired without makeup.

That is all the questions answered! I tag everyone and mainly http://amyelizabethheartsyou.blogspot.co.uk/ because I always do! Haha

Thanks, Rosie x

Beauty Things I Suck At!

I was so excited when I saw my friend Amy http://amyelizabethheartsyou.blogspot.co.uk/ had tagged me in this! Why hadn't I seen it untill now?? I am aware im quite late with this but oh well :) So lets get started...

1. Waiting for my nails to dry

Im getting better at painting my right hand (because I am right handed) but my left hand is always better, however I have the ability to sit still for a few minutes until they are almost dry and then I end up doing something that ruins them at the last minute! It is so frustrating, I am also lazy with base coats for example my nails are currently stained red!

2. Looking after my skin

By this I mean exfoliating, moisturising and all that malarky... I will be good and do it for a few days but then I just loose it! I have a really bad attitude about it, like I just think 'well no-one is going to be seeing my legs so just leave them' which isn't always the best! In the summer, my feet really suffer too. I would do it before bed but I hate the feeling of moisturiser that hasnt sunk in causing my legs to stick to the sheets! GRRRRRR.....

3. Blusher

I avoid wearing blusher, I don't know if its just my skin tone that makes it look awful or just my awful aplication skills. I can't get it to look just right, it either looks like I dont have any on, or I have a bright pacht on my cheek! I litrally have tried and failed so much!

4. Curling my eyelashes

Don't even get me started on this one! I love the effect it has on my mascara aplication but god am I awful! I have lost eyelashes many times to a battle with my eyelash curlers! I like to tell myself its just the eyelash curlers, but they cut sections of eyelash off which isn't the best look I have to admit. Think some new ones will be going on my list soon.

5. Everyday eyeshadow

I can't get an inbetween look, I either just wear one colour (which isn't the most fun thing, or wear like the whole of my eyeshadow collect slight exageration) It either looks really boring, or like im going on a night out! I think I may need some new brushes but most of these beauty issues are to do with me having awful products, so I have so much to buy yet so little money!

Im sure I can think of more but for now 5 will be enough, I don't want to depress my self too much because there must be somethings im good at.... actually I can't think of anything so I will leave it at that!

Bye and thank you for reading,

Rosie x

A New Drink!

Recently I have become a big fan of fruity tea! I picked up some Strawberry and Raspberry Tea Bags in Marks & Spencer...they taste, smell and are heaven! I couldn't not share them, here is a picture I posted on my Instagram (rosiethediamondcruncher) and my Pinterest (rosiefrancesca) if you are interested in following me!

Battle of the Face Creams

Long time no post, sorry! Anyway, I shall try to post more regularly this summer, anyway enough of that...

This is a comparison of three daily moisturisers for combination/oily skin! I hope this helps anyone with skin like mine.

1) No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Normal/Oily Skin

I do believe this is sold in more than just normal/oily skin, but that is the one I have! This cream is sold in a 50ml glass pot, out of the three it is the only one in a pot. It has SPF 15 so enough for day to day use but as we go into the summer I would need more, as I have quite far skin. It is hypo-allergenic which is suitable for those of us with sensitive skin! It is to be applied every morning after cleansing. I find this cream very thick and luxurious but not so thick that it pulls on my skin to apply. It feels very gentle, and is lightly scented but its only a fresh subtle smell! Makeup can be applied after it and it glides on easily. At the end of the day after I have taken my makeup off, I can really feel a difference as my skin is so soft. With this a little bit goes along way! I do find my nose, chin and forehead getting very greasy but almost every cream has this effect after a few hours on me. Overall a lovely luxury product! I can't remember the exact price but for more information visit www.boots.com/no7

2) Soap & Glory Clear Here Facial Moisture Lotion

I love love love all Soap & Glory products and this is definately not an exception! This controls oils on the T-Zone and can be used day and night! It is designed for oily/combination skin types...so perfect for me basically! It also claims to have PORESHRINK(TM) skin perfector and smoothing mattifying BLOT-A-LOT(TM) complex! It did smooth my skin and i found my makeup had a more matte effect when I used this. However I can't say I noticed a difference in my pore sizes! This is also 50ml but comes in a squeezy tube, and im not too sure on the price but you can check out www.soapandglory.com
This sunk into my skin so quickly that I felt I had to apply more and more! It is probably because it is described more as a lotion, this says to apply after cleansing morning and night and under your jawline aswell as the face. This also says wait 30 seconds before applying makeup! It had a lovely fresh zingy feeling on my skin like it was actually working, a fabulous product! It did not leave my face feeling too soft that it was greasy which is always good!

3) Neutrogena visibly clear (TM) Oil-Free Moisturiser

This is a more recent purchase so I can tell you it was £4.50 from Morrisons! It claims to hydrate, smooth and even out skin tone for clearer and healthy looking skin! So far that sounds very promising, and I wanted a new moisturiser because Im braking out a bit at the moment so 'oil-free' sounded very appealing! This is 50ml too in a squeezey tube and I would say its consistansy is between the two because its a thicker lotion! It glided onto my skin beautifully without dragging too much! I have some other products from this range in Neutrogena which I very much like (although nothing seems to clear my spots completely) but thats what made me pick it over a similar product from Simple. This says it should be applied in the morning on freshly washed skin! My face feels very lovely so far but I don't think I will have any bad problems with it! This has a hint of a scent but im not sure what it is because its a bit weird, it smells like it actually works though!

So they are my three products of the battle for today! I don't think there is a clear winner, they are all equally as nice for different reasons! Those are my opinions of the products on my skin so everyone may be different, I wasn't sponcered by any of the above companies and all these products were purchased by me or my mum! Hahaha, thanks for reading and I hope this helped...
Love,
Rosie x
