Top 5 Summer Lip Products

Lip colours and products are one thing that stands out to me that changes a lot between the summer and winter... for example in the winter I tend to wear darker colours and nudes, however in the summer I wear bright and exciting colours! So today I will be telling you about my lip products that get me through summer! These aren't in any order because I love them all...

1. e.l.f Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in the shade 'Pink Umbrellas'. This is basically like your typical wind-up lip product, similar to the Clinique chubby sticks but at a fraction of the price! The smell isn't that great and normally with makeup I don't mind but I like a lip product to smell good! It just kind of smells of plastic, that is the only downside to this product! It is a nice pinky nude colour but it still seems quite summery! It is only £2.50 but I got it for £1.25 because there was 50% off when you spend over a certain amount at e.l.f. It is quite sheer but I would say its buildable...also its very moisturising.

2. Barry M Lip Gloss Wands in shade 11... boy does this smell good, it has a kind of tropical pineapple sweet scent! And I think that matches the colour perfectly as its a tropical coral/orange colour. It is such a nice lip gloss, it has a decent amount of colour but not too much that I wouldn't be able to wear it everyday, I don't find it sticky at all and I can tell you now its definitely going on my summer holiday with me. It is £4.49 from Boots.

3. Nivea Pearly Shine is a pearly pink quite strongly pigmented lip balm. Once you have applied it the colour lasts for a while but it feels so light a moisturising on my lips which makes it the perfect everyday holiday product! I find it to be a super flattering colour and it is super cheap... only £2.29 from Boots. I can get away with it for school too which I love because its so quick to apply like a lip balm but just makes your lips look slightly more 'done' if you know what I mean!

4. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss in Pink Apricot is one of those lip glosses that plumps your lips with that tingly feeling, I think you either love it or hate it, personally I find it quite exciting...this is a coral kind of colour but its not to pigmented which I actually like because I can wear it everyday! I love the smell, It is £9 individually but I got mine in a set with two others for £20 'Half Naked' which is a browny nude and 'Yummy Plum' which is a redy-plum colour. I like these colours but the smells aren't really my favourite... Half Naked is meant to smell of chocolate but I think it smells of feet, and the Yummy Plum smells too sickly and sweet and I think its meant to smell like plums. These have made me want to try more expensive makeup because usually I just get the really cheap things from Boots/Superdrug which can have some amazing things but I want to start getting less makeup but spend more on it now I have all the basics. I will repurchase things like my Collection lasting perfection concealer. Anyway I have gone a bit off topic now!

5. 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in the shade 'Honey Blossom' is a slightly more pink coral (see the coral theme??) lipstick and when you first apply it, its very bright but after a while the colour would still be there just not as strong as originally. It has a shimmery finish and its not too drying on the lips. It is fairly cheap at £4.29 from Boots and there is a huge variety in colours. It has a fairly neutral smell. I have a few of the other shades and for the price I think its a lovely product! This can be built up to quite a bold colour for evening meals out on holiday but it can clash with a lot of clothes and I have to be careful with it not clashing with my blusher.

I hope you enjoyed me speaking about these products, thanks for reading...

p.s - does anyone have any suggestions for a good first MAC lipstick?

Day Out - Village Carnival 2013

So last Saturday (29th June) it was my villages annual carnival, it can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes its really good and sometimes its not really to be honest but this year I had such fun! It basically starts off with a new theme each year and all the primary schools and little kids parade down to the local meadow on floats and in costume early afternoon. Then there are various categories to win for things like 'Best Float'. There is an arena in the middle which all afternoon has things going on like local dance schools, demonstrations (this year it was a bit weird) it turned out to be a load of sheep and ducks going over jumps and through tunnels being chased by a dog...WHAT?!?!? well some people certainly enjoyed that but I personally just didn't get it.

Here are some photos I took of things going on in the day, because what I tend to prefer are the stalls around the outside and just siting down on the meadow with my friends! Enjoy...

Day Out - Graduate Fashion Week 2013 London

I cant remember exactly but I think I went on the Tuesday of Graduate Fashion Week in London, I went on a school trip with the Textiles Department because I am going to be taking it for GCSE. If you aren't from England search it because its too complicated to explain! Anyway, we had an early start and a long coach trip down to London. When we arrived we went round the stands by different universities and colleges. It was really good fun and there were plenty of freebies to pick up as we went round and I have definitely got some inspiration for next year. Then we went and watched a fashion show with all the students from one university. I will insert some pictures because they will probably do a better job of explaining things! Just for your information, most pictures will have the students name in the background so all I did was take photos and I am not taking credit for any of the marvellous designs.

Hope you enjoyed reading this and I shall see you all soon....
